SUMMARY:Join MLO At The California Reparations Task Force Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Reparations for African Americans are on the table in the State of California and we want you to join the conversation. Assembly Bill 3121 (AB 3121) was enacted on September 30\, 2020 and establishes the Task Force to Study and Develop Reparation Proposals for African Americans (Task Force or Reparations Task Force). On Friday\, September 23 and Saturday\, September 24\, from 9am to 5pm\, the Task Force will hold meetings to provide updates and receive public comments about reparations.  \nWe invite you to spend Saturday morning with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority\, Inc.\, Mu Lambda Omega Chapter from 9am to 12pm to learn more about reparations. We will attend the task force meeting during public comment\, then grab lunch to debrief and discuss the role of task forces in government. \nFor the full meeting agenda and additional information click here. \nWhat to Know About the Task Force\n•	On June 1\, 2022\, the Task Force to Study and Develop Reparation Proposals for African Americans issued its interim report to the\n        California Legislature\n•	A final report will be issued before July 1\, 2023\n•	A series of community listening sessions have been held statewide to help the task force better understand the experiences of Black Californians \nWe also encourage you to invite friends and family to the meetings\, so they can share their experience and learn more about the status of reparations in California. \nRegister here to attend the Task Force Meeting.
