Global Impact Community Impact Day\, join Mu Lambda Omega Chapter’s Shoe and Clothing Collection Event in partnership with Soles4Souls (S4S). Get those gently worn shoes and clothes together for a good cause! \nWe are hosting a contactless drive-up and drop-off event to collect boxes of shoes and never-worn or gently worn clothes in good condition.  Our S4S Team will be onsite both days to receive your boxes without you ever leaving your vehicle and will ship them off at no cost to you. \n  \nDate & Time:    Friday\, April 8\, 2022 at 10am-1pm  \n                          Saturday\, April 9\, 2022 at 10am-2pm \nLocation:         UPS at 10736 W. Jefferson Blvd.\, Culver City CA 90230 \n  \nLook for the pink and green balloons and signs to direct you to the drop off area at the shopping center \nSoles4Souls accepts men\, women\, and children’s shoes.  Bring your gently worn shoes that are in GOOD condition or have never been worn. According to the Los Angeles Homeless Service Authority\, “structural racism causes Black people to be 4x more likely to experience homelessness.” MLO is committed to fighting social injustices through direct service\, policy and advocacy and participating in the Count is a demonstration of our commitment. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a free virtual experience A Day of Compassion: Black Refugees at the US Border on June 13\, 2021 at 2:00pm – 3:00pm.  \nThis year marks the 50th anniversary of World Refugee Day\, which celebrates the strength and courage of people who have been forced to flee their home country to escape conflict or persecution. Mu Lambda Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority\, Inc. will host a conversation with black-led organizations that are working to assist black refugees at the border as they seek entry into the US\, as well as efforts to help them as they resettle and build a new life. \nWe are excited to welcome Nana Gyamfi from Black Alliance for Just Immigration (BAJI) and Fardosa Osman from United Women of East Africa (UWEAST) to share their insights and lift up the experiences of black refugees to build understanding\, support and advocacy. \nWe will also feature a Virtual Artist Showcase by young people who participated in a unit we developed and learned about the experiences of black refugees and were moved to create artistic expressions! \nDon’t miss it-all in the community are welcome! DESCRIPTION:The MLO Program target “The Arts” has launched MLO Arts In Motion or MLOAIM\, a new Performing Arts Club for middle school youth!  They will learn about the arts\, experience different forms of art and express themselves artistically. \nThe first outing is on October 26 at 9am – Youth Diversity Film Festival sponsored by the Black Hollywood Education and Resource Center.  As part of the 25th Annual African American Film Marketplace & S.E.
