DESCRIPTION:Mu Lambda Omega monthly chapter meetings (for sorority members only) are held on the third Saturday of every month.  Our December meeting will begin at 10 a.m. at the Proud Bird located at 11022 Aviation Blvd. Los Angeles\, CA 90043\, followed by our “Holidays at Tiffany’s” Holiday Luncheon immediately following the meeting. Wear your little black dress\, plenty of pearls\, and a splash of pink!  \nPre-registration is required for the luncheon\, the cost is $70.  MLO members\, check your email for registration information. \nClick here for more information about requirements for visitors to attend a chapter meeting. Once visitors are cleared by the Sergeant at Arms\, you will receive information to remit the fee if you would like to attend the luncheon. Assembly Bill 3121 (AB 3121) was enacted on September 30\, 2020 and establishes the Task Force to Study and Develop Reparation Proposals for African Americans (Task Force or Reparations Task Force). On Friday\, September 23 and Saturday\, September 24\, from 9am to 5pm\, the Task Force will hold meetings to provide updates and receive public comments about reparations.  \nWe invite you to spend Saturday morning with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority\, Inc.\, Mu Lambda Omega Chapter from 9am to 12pm to learn more about reparations. Get those gently worn shoes and clothes together for a good cause! \nWe are hosting a contactless drive-up and drop-off event to collect boxes of shoes and never-worn or gently worn clothes in good condition.  Our S4S Team will be onsite both days to receive your boxes without you ever leaving your vehicle and will ship them off at no cost to you. \n  \nDate & Time:    Friday\, April 8\, 2022 at 10am-1pm  \n                          Saturday\, April 9\, 2022 at 10am-2pm \nLocation:         UPS at 10736 W. DESCRIPTION:It is with a heavy heart that the Mu Lambda Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority\, Incorporated® announces the passing of our beloved Soror Eleanor Wallace. \nSoror Eleanor was granted her heavenly wings and became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on Friday\, February 26\, 2022. Soror Eleanor was an accomplished and decorated educator with Inglewood Unified School District for over 40 years. She was also a very active member of Mu Lambda Omega Chapter and was an integral part of every facet of our chapter. DESCRIPTION:The Mu Lambda Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority\, Inc.\, in collaboration with the Black Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles\, the California Innocence Project\, and the Los Angeles Regional Reentry Partnership\, will present the virtual event Repairing A Broken System: A Criminal Justice Reform Panel on Tuesday\, March 15\, 2022 at 7:00pm – 8:30pm PST. \nHow do the injustices of the United States criminal justice system affect the African American community\, as well as other underserved communities? What steps can we take to repair the system and make it equal for all citizens? \nJoin us virtually on Tuesday\, March 15\, 2022 at 7pm to find out. During our panel discussion\, leaders in law and advocacy will talk about the state of our current justice system and how it affects members of our community.
