SUMMARY:MLO Global Community Impact Day-Shoe and Clothing Collection Event
DESCRIPTION:In observance of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority\, Inc. Global Impact Community Impact Day\, join Mu Lambda Omega Chapter’s Shoe and Clothing Collection Event in partnership with Soles4Souls (S4S). Get those gently worn shoes and clothes together for a good cause! \nWe are hosting a contactless drive-up and drop-off event to collect boxes of shoes and never-worn or gently worn clothes in good condition.  Our S4S Team will be onsite both days to receive your boxes without you ever leaving your vehicle and will ship them off at no cost to you. \n  \nDate & Time:    Friday\, April 8\, 2022 at 10am-1pm  \n                          Saturday\, April 9\, 2022 at 10am-2pm \nLocation:         UPS at 10736 W. Jefferson Blvd.\, Culver City CA 90230 \n  \nLook for the pink and green balloons and signs to direct you to the drop off area at the shopping center \nSoles4Souls accepts men\, women\, and children’s shoes.  Bring your gently worn shoes that are in GOOD condition or have never been worn. Prepare the box per the instructions below but do not seal it.  Place your boxes in your car. If you have clothing that is in GREAT condition\, then box them as well.  Place clothes and shoes in separate boxes.  \nPLEASE NOTE IF YOU CANNOT ATTEND ON THESE DATES BUT WOULD LIKE TO PARTICIPATE\, PLEASE REQUEST UPS SHIPPING LABELS AND DONATION FORMS FROM MLO S4S TEAM MEMBER SHERYL TAYLOR at swdtaylor@aol.com.  You can take your boxes to any UPS location and they will still ship at no cost to you! \n  \nBOX PREP INSTRUCTIONS: \nSTEP #1:  Write the total number of pairs of ‘gently’ used shoes or number of clothing items you are shipping on the outside of your box.  Maximum weight per box is 50lbs. You can bring more than (1) box. \nStep#2:   Secure the matching pairs of shoes with a rubber band\, string\, plastic ties\, etc. \nStep #3:  At drop-off\, we will confirm the total number of shoes or clothing items per box.  We will include the shipping slip in your box\, seal for shipping and complete processing with UPS. \nStep #4:  REMEMBER\, IF YOU CANNOT ATTEND THIS EVENT\, BOX YOUR SHOES AND YOU CAN SHIP FROM ALL UPS LOCATIONS Please request UPS Shipping labels and donation form from Sheryl Taylor at swdtaylor@aol.com. \n  \nSpread the word with friends and family who may want to help make sure that our global neighbors in need have shoes and clothing. A brisk walk or jog daily will help to regulate your blood pressure and even help to shed those unwanted pounds you might have gained during the last couple of years. It will also get you primed and ready for our virtual 5K coming in June. Get your body ready for the 5K by walking and or running. \nHelp us reach our goal of 3 million steps! DESCRIPTION:We are excited to announce that Mu Lambda Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority\, Inc.® will begin our voter registration campaign “Project Register To Vote\,” to encourage the community to vote during the upcoming elections. \nWe are kicking off our activities with a Voter Registration Training on April 25\, 2022 at 7 PM. The training will consist of detailed steps and instructions on how to accurately register voters. At the end of the training you will be officially deputized by the County of Los Angeles.
