In observance of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® Day of Service, the Mu Lambda Omega Chapter (MLO) proudly collaborated with Big Sunday, a Los Angeles–based nonprofit dedicated to building community through volunteerism, to deliver meaningful service and hands-on support to those in need.

The partnership exemplified the spirit of AKA’s commitment to service to all mankind, uniting Sorors in purposeful action that addressed immediate community needs while strengthening long-term civic engagement. Volunteers from Mu Lambda Omega worked alongside Big Sunday staff and community members to support initiatives focused on compassion, dignity, and access to essential resources.

Through this collaboration, Sorors participated in activities designed to make a tangible impact—demonstrating that service is most powerful when it is intentional, collaborative, and rooted in community partnerships. Big Sunday’s mission to connect people through acts of kindness aligned seamlessly with AKA’s legacy of leadership, advocacy, and service.

The AKA Day of Service is a signature opportunity for chapters across the nation to mobilize collectively and visibly in their communities. For Mu Lambda Omega, partnering with Big Sunday reinforced the importance of meeting people where they are and leveraging trusted community organizations to amplify impact.

This collaboration not only benefited those served but also strengthened bonds among Sorors and community partners alike. It served as a reminder that service is not a one-day effort, but an ongoing commitment to uplifting communities and fostering hope.

Mu Lambda Omega Chapter remains dedicated to advancing Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.’s mission through strategic partnerships, sustained service, and leadership that makes a difference—on AKA Day of Service and beyond.
