Mu Lambda Omega was honored to celebrate Muluemebet (Mulu) Alemayehu, Esq. for being selected as the Law/Public Safety Honoree for Woman of the Year by the Los Angeles County Commission for Women. Mulu was joined by Mu Lambda Omega Uplift Our Community Initiative Chairman Monique Hunter-Dennis, MLO President Andria Hancock-Crear and MLO Border Task Force Project Lead Adrienne Byers at the 38th Annual Women of the Year Commemorative Celebration at the Sheraton Grand Hotel. The theme for this year’s event was “Celebration Women Who Tell Our Stories” and Mulu was honored for her work that assists black migrants at the Mexico border who are seeking asylum under harsh, racist and dangerous conditions. MLO partners with Mulu and other Border Task Force member organizations to provide aid and basic necessities to the those in need at the border. It was because of this work that Adrienne Byers submitted Mulu for recognition and we are beyond excited that she was selected. We congratulate Attorney Mulu Alemayehu for this well-deserved award!!
