Mu Lambda Omega Chapter, the National Panhellenic Council Los Angeles and other Divine Nine organizations came together to support an important community event about cancer in the African American community. African Americans have a disproportionate rate of both breast and colon cancer compared to other groups. Surgical Oncologist Dr. Ronald Hurst of the Angeles Clinic and Research Institute, an affiliate of Cedars-Sinai, provided lifesaving information about the importance of mammograms and colonoscopies and answered a bevy of questions from all who attended.
